FIRST TEAM
ALLY WHITSON, PALO ALTO
Senior, outside hitter
The co-MVP of the De Anza Division helped lead the Vikings to their third consecutive league title. Whitson intimidated opponents with her jumping ability and hit a heavy ball that was tough to handle. The UC-Davis-bound senior had 525 kills, 268 digs, 55 aces and 51 blocks. She was at the top of her game in the playoffs, recording 16 kills against Westmont, 20 in the Vikings' first win ever over St. Francis and 18 in a CCS semifinal loss to Archbishop Mitty. Whitson expanded her game this year and became more than just an excellent hitter, developing a dangerous jump serve and improving her defense.
